To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday)

  • Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist. We are open Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 6:00pm.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

To request a routine appointment in the next 7 days

  • Phone us Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6:00pm.
  • Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist. We are open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6:00pm.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • by text or email.

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means the doctor or nurse can help you sooner, appointments with the Doctor normally start with a telephone consultation unless previously arranged face to face. Operating a telephone first arrangements allows us to see more patients in a timely manner and reduce infection risk

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you need help when we are closed

If the situation is an emergency or life threatening, dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.

For urgent medical advice between 6.30pm and 8.30am weekdays, or during weekends and Bank Holidays, call NHS 111.

Out of hours cover is provided in genuine emergencies by the local Downedoc service. Phone 028 9260 2204 to access this service.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond.
  • If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email.
  • If you need an interpreter.
  • If you have any other access or communication needs.

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need. To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice before 11:30am on 028 437 22252.
